Communication Protocol for Website
The website communication protocol is based on the stated purpose of the website;
To provide a communications vehicle whereby the MAAC Membership will be given the opportunity to see alternate points of view. There is no other vehicle within MAAC whereby anyone, other than a small group within the MAAC Board of Directors, can communicate with the members at large, not even using the MAAC Magazine for this purpose.
Communication Protocol
- Only post points of view and site static information (site purpose communication protocol) with clear facts backed by current documents.
- Derogatory statements are not allowed.
- Discussions must be based on factual information.
- It is fine to comment on concerns however we need to stick to ensuring the reason for the site is to be informative, providing support or an alternative point of view.
- Personal opinions about other people are not allowed, only deal with the topic item.
- Build credibility of the site by being factual, do not name individuals.
- Maintain the credibility of the site – Posts must be informative and factful.
- We need to be aware of appropriate search engine wording;
- Posts will show up when people search for specific words and phrases.
Approval Protocol
- A one-week time period for responses/discussion – anyone who has not responded within that time frame will be considered to have tacitly agreed.
- Move forward with a ‘consensus’;
- If, after discussion, we have 25% of members objecting, we do not publish.
